Post Doctoral Position. This position is aimed at development and application of high resolution MRI in small animal models of neurotransmitter dysfunction and neurodegenerative disease. The Biological Imaging Center and Caltech Brain Imaging Center (http://bioimaging.caltech.edu/) are highly interdisciplinary endeavors with biologists, chemists, physicists, and engineers working on a number of animal models of disease and developmental processes. We are interested in an individual who is firmly grounded in NMR theory and practice with an interest in applications in neurobiology. This work will involve various MR methodologies including DTI and tract tracing, as well as joint microMR/microPET imaging. MRI facilities at Caltech include a 3T Siemens human scanner and Bruker SpectroSpin 11.7T/89mm, 9.4T/30cm, 7T/30cm and 4.7T/60cm systems dedicated to research. There are also extensive facilities for all aspects of MRI hardware development and data analysis.
