Robert M. Roth, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry with the Neuropsychology Program and Brain Imaging Laboratory. He received his B.A. with honors in Psychology from McGill University, followed by an M.A. in Experimental Psychology and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Concordia University in Montreal. Dr. Roth is a neuropsychologist who trained at the Montreal Neurological Institute, completed a pre-doctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at Yale University, and a post-doctoral fellowship in neuropsychology and neuroimaging at Dartmouth Medical School. His research has focused on the role of executive functions and frontal-striatal-thalamic-cortical circuitry in patients and populations at risk for psychiatric, neurological, and neuropsychiatric disorders. Other research interests include the neural substrates of apathy, impulsivity and compulsivity, as well as prediction of outcome following pharmacological, psychological or neurosurgical interventions using brain-based measures. Dr. Roth is currently the Joshua Burnett Clinical Research Fellow at Dartmouth. Non-professional interests include European history, hard rock/heavy metal music, and hockey.
